Little Rock, Arkansas-based Encore Bank is planning an expansion into southwest Missouri with the hiring of a local banking executive.
Encore Bank hired Doug Parker as southwest Missouri regional president, according to a news release. Parker most recently served as the local regional community bank president for Pine Bluff, Arkansas-based Simmons First National Corp. (Nasdaq: SFNC).
"As Encore continues to expand, it is crucial we find the leaders that are not only excellent bankers but excellent people," said Chris Roberts, chairman and CEO for Encore Bank, in the release. "Doug absolutely fits that description and we know he will build a bank in southwest Missouri that will be a highlight for Encore Bank."
Encore Bank Chief Marketing Officer Barry Jackson said the company currently is seeking office space in Springfield with plans to put down roots this year. It would first open as a loan production office with plans to introduce a full-service branch, he said.
Encore Bank had $650 million in assets as of Aug. 31, according to the release. Its website shows branches in Little Rock, Fayetteville, Jonesboro and Rogers, Arkansas. Founded in 1997 as Capital Bank, the company last year rebranded to Encore Bank under new leadership.
