Ark. home sales jump 24%

While home prices remained relatively flat during the month of August, home sales in the Natural State jumped 24 percent, according to Arkansas Business reporting, based on data from the Arkansas Realtors Association.

In August, 2,819 homes sold in the state, which compares to 2,273 in the same month last year. The average sale price dipped slightly in August to $164,373 from $164,916 in the same month a year ago.

Year-to-date through August, home sales in Arkansas are up 13 percent compared to the first eight months of last year, according to Arkansas Business.
