Ark. governor picks replacement for ousted judge

Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe appointed Mike Murphy, city attorney of the Arkansas city of Conway, to complete the term of ousted circuit court judge Mike Maggio.

The term ends on Dec. 31, after which Murphy will begin his term as a newly elected circuit judge in a different division, according to the Log Cabin Democrat.

The Arkansas Supreme Court ordered the immediate removal of Maggio last week after he disclosed confidential details about an adoption involving actress Charlize Theron's child and made off-color remarks in an online forum, according to The Associated Press.
