Springfield's only professional rodeo, the 7th annual Cowboy Classic Rodeo, comes to the Ozark Empire Fairground Coliseum March 23, 24 and 25. Top cowboys and cowgirls of the International Professional Rodea Association will compete for $20,000 in prize money. |ret||ret||tab|

Also featured are award-winning stock from the Hampton Rodeo Co. of Springdale, Ark., and rodeo clown Mike Ulmer and Scamp the Wonder Horse. Tickets are available at PFI and Price Cutter stores.|ret||ret||tab|

Cassville car, truck show|ret||ret||tab|

Coming up in April is the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce's Dogwood Car and Truck Festival. The event, set for Saturday, April 21, offers trophies for first and second place in 26 classes with additional trophies for best engine, best paint, best interior, largest car club in attendance and largest Corvette club in attendance. The first 25 entrants will receive a free tee shirt and all entrants will be given a dash plaque of the show. Ozarks Celebration Festival|ret||ret||tab|

It's a long way off but certainly worth putting on the calendar. The free Fourth Annual Ozarks Celebration Festival will be held Saturday, August 25 on the Southwest Missouri State campus from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, August 26 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Highlighted are more than 50 traditional craftspeople and commercial artists; traditional, bluegrass, and gospel music; storytelling; traditional dance; films; historical characters; and exhibits. One of the region's biggest festivals the 24th Annual Fair Grove Heritage Reunion will be held from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, September 29 and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, September 30. The arts and crafts show spotlights over 300 booths with demonstrations of all kinds. Sponsored by the Fair Grove Historical and Preservation Society, the event's theme is turn-of-the-century and features a parade, country music, dancing, period entertainment, horse and mule obstacle course demonstrations, threshing, baling, an antique tractor show and lots of good things to eat.
