In Springfield, Developmental Center of the Ozarks has been approved for $230,154 in tax credits to benefit its therapy program, which provides evaluations, therapy, parent education and support to families even if they cannot pay for the services.
The Monett YMCA was approved for $350,00 in NAP tax credits, which will be used in a capital campaign for the construction of a full-service recreation, education and community facility. Once completed, the facility will offer services such as wellness programs, youth and adult sports and aquatics, child care and special events.
The Joplin-based Children’s Center of Southwest Missouri was approved for $112,840 in NAP tax credits for the construction of a 2,100-square-foot building in Butler, to be used as a child advocacy, assessment and treatment center for severely abused children and their families. The Butler site will allow the Children’s Center to expand its services to Bates, St. Clair and Henry counties.
The NAP tax credits program is administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development. According to a news release, businesses can donate cash, materials, supplies, equipment, services, labor, stocks or bonds for credits equal to up to 50 percent of the total amount contributed, or up to 70 percent for projects in most rural areas.
