Area MoDOT projects halted

Four planned expansion projects in MoDOT's District 8 that will be delayed and engineering consultant contracts suspended or halted ($3.2 million total) due to a lack of funding:

The south leg of the Ozark Mountain High Road in Branson; $1.3 million contract with HNTB of Kansas City ($1.1 million) and subcontractors Woodward-Clyde and Historic Preservation Associates ($200,000).

The Route 60/37 location study for the section of Route 60 between Republic and Marionville; $139,000 contract with CH2M Hill of St. Louis ($108,000) and subcontractor SMSU Center for Archeological Research ($31,000).

The right-of-way plans to upgrade Route 60 to a freeway between Springfield and Rogersville; $1.1 million contract with HDR Engineering Inc. of Kansas City ($600,000) and subcontractor Mathews & Associates ($500,000).

The widening of Route 65 to four lanes from Hollister to the Arkansas state line; $700,000 contract with EFK Moen of St. Louis.
