Ozarks Technical Community College is using gifts from four area business leaders to the OTC Foundation to create four new scholarships.
Judy Breeding, CEO of Ben Steele Properties and a member of the OTC Foundation Board of Directors, endowed the Judy Breeding Scholarship for female accounting students.
Sam and June Hamra, owners of Wendy's of Missouri and Hamra Enterprises, endowed the Sam F. and June S. Hamra Scholarship for culinary and hospitality management students. Sam Hamra is also a member of the OTC Foundation board.
Rick and Karen Hughlett endowed the Rick and Karen Hughlett Scholarship for students in OTC's automotive program. Rick Hughlett, founder and president of Rick's Automotive Inc., is also an OTC Foundation board member.
The Charlie and Mary Beth O'Reilly Family Foundation endowed the Charlie and Mary Beth O'Reilly Scholarship for students with financial need. Charlie O'Reilly is the former president and CEO of O'Reilly Automotive Inc. and serves as vice chairman of the publicly traded company's board of directors.
All four gifts were for undisclosed amounts.
"These four scholarships will provide help for a wide variety of students, all with very different financial needs, for years to come," said Cliff Davis, vice president for institutional advancement and OTC Foundation executive director, in a news release. "In every case, though, these gifts will make it possible for more students to continue their education and become better prepared for their eventual career."[[In-content Ad]]
