Area Building & Development News--Joplin

Posted online

Three-bedroom structures accounted for more than half of the homes sold in the Joplin area, one set of indicators shows.

The Joplin Board of Realtors reported that 98 homes were sold in December, three more than had been sold during November. Of the 98 houses, 58 were three-bedroom homes.

The sales represent houses carried on the area's Multiple Listing Service.

The average house sold in December cost $83,231 and spent 107 days on the board's list.

December is typically a slow month for real estate transactions and December 1997 was no exception. Only January and November were slower months last year with home sales at 77 and 95, respectively.

Not all homes sold in the area are on the MLS.
