Ken Stufflebeam of Gaskin Hill Norcross is project architect for the renovation of the Springfield Police Department headquarters at 321 E. Chestnut Expwy. Mark Wolthuis of Gaskin Hill Norcross is mechanical engineer, and the general contractor has not yet been named. The approximately $3.4 million, 37,800-square-foot project is scheduled for completion in May 2005. An in-depth facilities planning study Gaskin Hill Norcross completed for the city of Springfield's Police Department identified a need for a major renovation to the existing facility. The project will relocate the main entrance to the west side of the building with a new front canopy, lobby and all related functions, providing a complete new layout of the basement, main floor and second floor with new partitions, ceilings, finishes, electrical systems, and heating and air conditioning systems. It also includes design of ADA-compliant elevators, restrooms, working space and public accommodation, as well as replacing and upgrading exterior doors and windows to provide better thermal values and solar heat-gain resistance. |ret||ret||tab|
