Hood-Rich Inc. Architects and Engineers is architect and structural engineer for renovations to the building at 218 S. Glenstone for Great Southern Bank. Smith-Goth Engineers Inc. is mechanical, plumbing and electrical engineer for the 68,318-square-foot remodeling project, which will cost approximately $2.1 million. The building is to be remodeled into new business offices for Great Southern Bank, which is serving as general contractor with Kristin Etem as project manager. The renovated space will allow the bank to relocate its business departments, which are currently in the South Avenue branch. The original interior plan is being modified to allow for several large open office areas, conference rooms and department offices. The open space areas will have modular furniture cubicle areas with exposed structure and indirect lighting above. There will be a large training and conference room, storage areas and a bank lobby. An 800-square-foot server room and backup generator will maintain computer access and power to all necessary equipment during power failures. Employees will have a large break room and exercise room. The existing front faade has been updated with the use of split-faced concrete block, precast concrete and brick. The existing west windows and door systems have been replaced with new storefront aluminum and solar glass. The existing site allows for future expansion to accommodate bank growth.
