Smith-Goth is the mechanical engineer for a renovation project that will transform an existing grocery store in Winfield, Kan., into a 6,000-square-foot banking center for Community National Bank. Bolivar-based Design Group Architects Ltd. is the architect, and Kansas City-based Scott Rice Interiors is the interior designer. Federal Protection Inc. is handling banking equipment and security issues for the project, which costs an estimated $755,000. The project includes space for a future expansion, with an 8,000-square-foot financial suite. The design uses brick and stone over the existing concrete block building, curved metal canopies and entry towers. The general contractor is LaForge & Budd Construction Co. Inc., and the project is scheduled for completion in winter 2008.
