Engineer Neil D. Fossnight of Scott Consulting Engineers is the project manager, and SCE is the civil engineer for a new state veterans cemetery for the Missouri Veterans Commission. SCE’s Jane Earnhart is the landscape architect. Wichita-based Gossen-Livingston Associates Inc. is the architect for the project, which is situated on 200 acres adjacent to Ft. Leonard Wood in Pulaski County. Other engineers are Jones & Associates, structural, and Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing. A general contractor has not yet been selected. The approximately $6.5 million project entails phased, planned development of facilities and burial spaces. Phase I will include roughly 25 acres of burial spaces; administration and maintenance buildings; a commital service shelter; columbarium wall; memorial plaza with water feature; roadways, walks, landscaping and turf areas; a standalone water supply system for irrigation and domestic use; on-site wastewater handling system and low-impact storm-water management capabilities. The project administration is by Missouri’s Division of Facilities Management Design & Construction. Design work is to be finished in June, with construction set for completion in August 2009.
