Architects Rob Haik and Brent Stevens of H Design Group designed Drury’s roughly 45,000-square-foot event center, which will seat 4,500 people and cost an estimated $12 million. The engineers are Anderson Engineers Inc., civil; Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing; and Mettemeyer Enginering LLC, structural. Environmental Market Solutions Inc. is the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design consultant for the project. Architect David Beach is a design consultant on the project, and Ellerbe Becket Inc. is the sports consultant. Interior Planning Consultants Inc. is the interior designer. Located at the heart of Drury’s campus, the facility will offer improved spaces for academic and athletic functions. It also will enable Drury to host NCAA Division II national tournaments. The design will reflect existing architectural designs on campus, but it also will be environmentally friendly. The center is expected to be complete in time for the 2009 basketball season.
