Architects & Engineers Winter 2008 Project Report: Colvin Jones Davis LLC

Colvin Jones Davis is the mechanical and electrical engineer for the roughly 12,800-square-foot botanical center for the Springfield-Greene County Park Board, Friends of the Garden and University of Missouri Extension. H Design Group LLC is the architect, and Mettemeyer Engineering LLC is the structural and civil engineer. Interior Planning Consultants Inc. is the interior designer. The single-story structure is designed to obtain basic Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification, and it will be built around the natural landscape with a roof garden entry and a ground-level patio overlooking Drummond Lake at Close Memorial and Nathanael Greene parks. The building will anchor surrounding parks and gardens and will serve as a public botanical, horticultural and environmental education center. A general contractor has not been selected, and a completion date is yet to be determined.
