Hood-Rich Inc. is the architect and civil engineer for the Dan Kinney Family Center for the Springfield-Greene County Park Board. Mettemeyer Engineering LLC is the structural engineer, and Smith-Goth Engineers Inc. is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. The general contractor for the $5.2 million center is Branco Enterprises Inc., and Architectural Energy Corp.is the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design consultant. The 35,279-square-foot, two-story building will have a community room, a gym with a walking and jogging track, fitness equipment, and rooms for games, child care and aerobics. There also will be a café area and locker rooms. The structure is designed to achieve LEED-Silver certification, with room for gymnasium and aquatics expansion. Completion is slated for October 2012.
