Architect: HMN Architects Inc.

HMN Architects is the architect for the 60-bed hospital that will replace McCune Brooks Hospital’s facility in Carthage. The engineers are Brack & Associates Consulting Engineers PC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing; Bob D. Campbell and Co., structural; and Walter P. Moore and Associates Inc., civil. JE Dunn Construction Co. is the general contractor for the roughly $36 million project, scheduled for completion in December. The project comprises 140,000 square feet of new construction, which includes the complete acute-care hospital and an attached medical office building. The design takes advantage of an existing pond. Natural light is used throughout, and windows provide views of the courtyards and water features, with landscaping that is meant to promote a healing environment.
