Architect Coffee Co. LLC aims to open a new drive-thru shop next month at a stand-alone building vacated earlier this year in the Fremont Center.
Co-owner Alycia Horn said its new coffee shop at 1300 E. Battlefield Road would open by late August. Architect Coffee is taking on the space previously occupied by Andy's Frozen Custard, which closed in January after operating in the 450-square-foot building since 2012.
Horn said the new store would offer the same coffee and food items at the same prices as the original location on Republic Road, but in a more time-friendly manner.
“We know a lot of people don’t always have the time to sit in the cafe, or come inside to place an order,” Horn said. “Architect Coffee Co. is excited to extend this experience and quality to a new drive-thru location.”
Owned by two couples – Nick and Megan Bearden and Ryan and Alycia Horn – Architect Coffee Co. opened its first location in March 2019 at 1604 E. Republic Road, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. Horn said the business prides itself on serving quality coffee, baked goods made from scratch, made-to-order breakfast and its welcoming atmosphere, which she said is like that of the TV show “Cheers.”
