Applications accepted for government academy

The city of Springfield is accepting citizens for the fall session of its Municipal Government Academy, held Tuesday evenings from Sept. 19 through Nov. 21.

The academy is a free, 11-week program that provides informational presentations on various city departments and tours of city facilities. The goal is to familiarize citizens with the functions of local government.

The program is free and open to all residents.
