Apple testing new super-thin MacBook Air

Get ready to buy another round of adapters Apple fans, because the Cupertino, Calif.-based company might be rolling out a new all-in-one port.

The Type-C USB port would replace every port on the current MacBook Air, sans the headphone jack, enabling Apple Inc. (NYSE: APPL) to design an even slimmer, lighter laptop.

CNNMoney reports Type-C USB is capable of powering a computer, so users won't need a separate MagSafe charger. It can power a display, and it's significantly faster than "old school" USB technology – fast enough to replace Apple's Thunderbolt ports. Best of all, Type-C USB plugs are reversible. That means no more struggling to figure out which way the plug is supposed to go.

The new version isn’t confirmed however. Apple tests numerous models before one hits shelves.
