Apple removes Hong Kong protests map from app store

Apple removed HKMap.live, a real-time map of protests in Hong Kong, from its app store.

Apple officials in a statement said the app "has been used in ways that endanger law enforcement and residents in Hong Kong" and to “target and ambush police, threaten public safety, and criminals have used it to victimize residents in areas where they know there is no law enforcement.”

A day earlier, Chinese state media warned Apple against supporting pro-democracy protestors.
