Apple plans record number of new iPhones

Get ready, the new iPhone is coming full force.

What will it look like? What new features will it have? Apple Inc. hasn’t said yet, but the Cupertino, Calif.-based company is ordering its largest production run to date.

Apple (Nasdaq: APPL) is asking suppliers to manufacture between 85 million and 90 million units combined of two new iPhone models with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays by Dec. 31, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The order tops last year’s record of 80 million phones ordered.
