Apple plans $1B expansion at Nevada data center

Apple plans to invest $1 billion to expand its data center east of Reno, Nevada.

The investment includes the hiring of 100 permanent workers, which would double the company's existing workforce at the center. Some 300 construction worker jobs are expected to be supported by the expansion.

Also, Reno City Council on Wednesday approved Apple's plans to build a $4 million shipping and receiving warehouse in the city's downtown area.
