Apple is out to blow up the cable TV model

Apparently the catch phrase "skinny bundles" is TV-industry code for meaning you soon will no longer have to pay for never watching RFD-TV.
 
According to Bloomberg Business, service providers including Dish and Apple will offer consumers lower-priced, streamlined packages of a few popular channels instead of the hundreds typically included in a monthly subscription. Considering the typical TV viewer watches only 17 of the average 189 channels received, this is a change consumers should embrace, some industry analysts predict.
 
Or not. Other analysts caution that offering a limited set of channels "destroy(s) a lot of optionality" for viewers who could become frustrated by having only 20 channels to flip between.
