Apple expected to release smaller iPhone

Apple is expected today to announce a smaller, cheaper iPhone.

According to Reuters, the device would be aimed at emerging markets and possibly China, the largest buyer of smartphones.

The company also is looking to reverse a decline in worldwide sales of its most important product.
