Apple cleared to test self-driving cars in California

The California Department of Motor Vehicles granted Apple a test permit for self-driving cars.

With the permit, the technology company can begin testing the autonomous driving technology in three 2015 Lexus RX 450h luxury hybrid sport utility vehicles.

The company's self-driving car project is known internally as Project Titan.
