Apple buys machine-learning startup for reported $200M

Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) acquired another company to boost its development of artificial intelligence.
 
Apple purchased Seattle-based startup Turi for $200 million, according to Fortune. The company focuses on machine learning, or technology that allows computers to make predictions based on analyzing data.
 
It is the third acquisition of an AI-related company by Apple in the last year, following separate purchases of Perceptio and VocalIQ.
