Apple becomes first U.S. company worth $700B

On Tuesday, Apple became the first U.S. company worth more than $700 billion.

According to USA Today, AAPL shares rose 1.9 percent on Tuesday, putting an exclamation point on the stock's 60 percent increase during the past year.

Microsoft was the first company to come close - with $600 billion in 2000.
