Apple announces $1B fund to invest in US manufacturing

Apple yesterday announced plans to create a $1 billion fund to invest in advanced manufacturing in the United States.

The first investment from the fund is expected to be unveiled later this month.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said the fund “can be the ripple in the pond."

“Those manufacturing jobs create more jobs around them because you have a service industry that builds up around them," he said.
