A state appeals court sided with a former Capitol staffer in a $3.3 million discrimination case.
Former House research staff member Eric Qualls alleges he was discriminated against when he was fired in 2017. Qualls alleges his supervisors did not accommodate his medical disability and that he was ousted after saying he would report the matter to the Missouri Human Rights Commission.
The Missouri Court of Appeals at Kansas City denied the House of Representatives' appeal. However, it sent the matter back to a lower court to determine the status of legal fees.
