AP: Video claims to show beheading of U.S. journalist

Islamic State extremists have proportedly beheaded their second American journalist.

The extremists released a video yesterday that depicts the death of Steven Sotloff in what the U.S. called a sickening act of brutality just two weeks after journalist James Foley was killed.

A spokesman for the Sotloff family said the family had seen the video, but authorities had yet to establish its authenticity. Sotloff was a 31-year-old Miami-area native who performed freelance work for Time and Foreign Policy magazines before he vanished in Syria in August 2013.
