Another 2.4M file for unemployment benefits

Another 2.4 million Americans filed for first-time unemployment benefits last week.

Since mid-March, 38.6 million people have made claims amid the coronavirus pandemic.

For the week ended May 9, the Department of Labor revised down the number of claims to 2.7 million from nearly 3 million. Officials said the total was changed because of a reporting error from Connecticut's Labor Department.
