Anonymous donor pledges $100K in matching funds to Drury campaign

Drury University has received a matching donation pledge of $100,000 for its $50 million Fortify the Future capital campaign.

The pledge was made by an anonymous donor, said Kevin Kropf, Drury's executive vice president of enrollment management, marketing and communications.

The new funds expand upon a $1.5 million matching donation pledge from the O'Reilly and Wooten families that was announced in February, according to a news release. Kropf said that pledge has since been matched.

"Our alumni, donors and supporters have realized the generosity of the O’Reilly and Wooten families and joined them in making a difference in the lives of students and the impact that Drury graduates can make in our communities and the world,” Drury interim President John Beuerlein said in the release.

The Fortify the Future campaign has raised roughly $40 million of its $50 million goal, said Kropf.

The campaign's focus areas include student scholarships and academic programs, building upgrades and an endowment increase, according to past reporting.
