Annual Firefall show is Saturday

Posted online
The 26th annual Firefall and Concert in the Sky will be Saturday on the grounds of Springfield-Branson National Airport.

The event begins at noon, with performances beginning at 2:15 p.m. and running throughout the day. Multiplatinum recording artist Deana Carter will give a concert at 8:15 p.m.

The Concert in the Sky will feature the Springfield Symphony and a fireworks show at 9:45 p.m., weather permitting.

Throughout the event, the Missouri Lottery will give out 120 prizes, free T-shirts and a $2,007 taxes-paid cash giveaway. The Kitchen also will be on site, collecting nonperishable food items and donations to restock its diminished summer food supply.

City Utilities will provide shuttles departing from the Missouri Entertainment and Event Complex, 3001 N. Grant Ave., every 15 minutes between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., and it will return riders after the event. Shuttle fees are the regular bus fares, plus $2 collected at the event site.

There will not be a second shuttle from North Town Mall, as in past years, due to construction.

More information and parking fees are available at www.springfieldfirefall.com.
