According to a news release from the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau, the BransonFest Park will include children’s playground equipment and picnic facilities in a landscaped setting. The park will be adjacent to homes built by Mountain Country Habitat for Humanity Homes.
BransonFest, in its 14th year, is the traditional opening event of the spring season in Branson. The event is produced by the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB, and volunteers of the BransonFest Committee. Activities at BransonFest include free exhibits, entertainment, arts and five daily showcase concerts.
“We are so grateful to BransonFest for helping us to make this neighborhood park a reality,” said Susan Martin, executive director of Mountain Country Habitat for Humanity. BransonFest has contributed funding for many Habitat homes, including the original “Branson Jam” house and 2003’s blitz-built “Homeland America House,” which was constructed as a cooperative project with military personnel from Fort Leonard Wood.
“There are currently six families living in the BransonFest/Habitat subdivision, and two more families will be added this year. There are seven additional Habitat families living in the Merriam Woods area. Most have young children who will benefit from this park,” Martin said.
