The parent company of the Ann Taylor and Loft retail chains filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Reports surfaced earlier this month that the company, Ascena Retail Group Inc., was planning to make the filing.
Closures through the bankruptcy filing include "all stores across brands in Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico," officials said.
