Anheuser-Busch orders 800 hydrogen-powered semitrucks

As part of a bid to make its entire fleet of long-haul trucks run on "clean energy," Anheuser-Busch has ordered up to 800 semitrucks powered by hydrogen gas. The vehicles, being made by built by Nikola Motor Co., can go anywhere from 500 to 1,200 miles on full tanks, depending on driving conditions and load. And since they run on compressed gas, Nikola's trucks can also refill in just 20 minutes.

Anheuser-Busch has a history of finding creative ways to move beer: it was first to use refrigerated rail cars, in the 1870s, and more recently shipped 50,000 cases of beer 120 miles in a self-driving truck.
