Anheuser-Busch brings on Kit Bond Strategies

St. Louis beer giant Anheuser-Busch has hired ex-Sen. Kit Bond’s lobbying firm to bolster efforts for Congress to renew the Brewers Excise and Economic Relief Act.

According to Politico, Kit Bond Strategies and lobbyist Shana Marchio plan to hold an educational series of meetings on beer production for A-B, which has spent $2.71 million on lobbying this year.

The BEER Act was designed to cut beer production taxes in half to $9 per barrel and to further reduce taxes on breweries that produce fewer than 2 million barrels a year.
