Actress Angelina Jolie has donated an autographed purse to be auctioned at the Handbags of Hope annual event Sept. 9 to benefit Boys & Girls Town of Missouri.
The purse, an ivory tote bag by Swiss designer Akris and autographed on the interior by Jolie, has an estimated worth of $4,000-$5,000, according to a Boys & Girls Town news release.
The charity auction will take place Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. at Highland Springs Country Club, 5400 Highland Springs Boulevard. Tickets are $35, according to the organization's
Web site.
The donation is not Jolie's first to Handbags for Hope - Springfield native Brad Pitt and Jolie in 2007 donated a messenger bag and four handbags to the auction, according to
Springfield Business Journal coverage.
Proceeds from Boys & Girls Town events help support children with a history of abuse or neglect, behavioral disorders or autism, the release said.[[In-content Ad]]
