It’s retirement 2.0 for Jim Anderson.
The longtime Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce president tomorrow is stepping away from his full-time career after three years working as vice president of marketing and public affairs for CoxHealth.
“I think it will stick this time,” said Anderson, who turns 68 this month.
Anderson’s retirement tomorrow comes
three years to the day after he was hired at CoxHealth. He held the top leadership position at the chamber for 26 years.
He’ll continue to work part time helping CoxHealth executives with community relations and public affairs on a limited basis.
“I’m guessing a year or so. It’s not going to be forever,” he said of the part-time status, noting his work weeks would be no more than 10 hours. “It’s time I do some other things in a more personal way.
“The advantage of the part time is I get to maintain those friendships and relationships. It’s not cold turkey.”
Anderson said his VP role will be covered by Jann Holland, a former Drury University executive who
joined CoxHealth in January, and longtime CoxHealth employee Teresa Coyan. Holland will be promoted to vice president of marketing and corporate communications, and Coyan is becoming director of legislative and public affairs, Anderson said.
