Analyst: Sale of Cabela's credit card operation most likely outcome

Bass Pro Shops has been rumored for months to be nearing a deal to buy rival Cabela's.

A financial analyst who follows the company says the more likely outcome of Cabela's strategic review is the sale of its World's Foremost Bank credit card operation.

The sale would free up some $400 million Cabela's could then use to buy back stock, said Andrew Burns, a senior research analyst with D.A. Davidson.
