Analog Devices, Hittite Microwave enter $2.45B deal

Analog Devices Inc. on Monday said it would acquire Hittite Microwave Corp. for about $2.45 billion in cash in an effort to expand its radio-frequency portfolio.

The Wall Street Journal reports Analag Devices specializes in signical-processing technology used in factory-automation systems and smartphones.

"Hittite's strength in RF, microwave, and millimeter wave technology complements ADI's RF and signal conversion expertise," Analog Devices Chief Executive Vincent Roche said.
