American Greg Kelly, an ex-Nissan Motor Co. executive, was released on bail in Japan Tuesday.
Kelly is accused of allegedly underreporting his boss Carlos Ghosn's pay.
Since the charges came out, Nissan has removed Kelly as representative director and Ghosn as chairman.
