'American Idol' canceled after 15 seasons

CNNMoney reports lack of audience interest in listening to parades of pop-star wannabes has dulled Fox's interest in the once hugely popular and profitable TV show. Ratings and advertising revenue have fallen since the show's heyday between 2004 and 2011, the report states.
 
"American Idol" will air its final season starting in January with judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. returning, as well as host Ryan Seacrest.
