American Apparel slashing thousands of jobs

Posted online
American Apparel plans to lay off 2,400 employees two months after it filed for bankruptcy protection.

The jobs are coming from the company's Los Angeles headquarters and a manufacturing hub it owns in nearby South Gate.

However, American Apparel stores will remain open for the next few months. Gildan can keep the locations, along with its website, operating for 100 days.
