St. Louis-based Ameren Missouri is closing one of its largest coal plants.
The company on Tuesday plans to retire the Rush Island Energy Center in Jefferson County along the Mississippi River.
Ameren Missouri has faced more than 13 years of litigation related to the plant and federal clean air regulations.
