Ameren Missouri received approval from the Missouri Public Service Commission to build an 800-megawatt natural gas energy center in St. Louis.
The Castle Bluff Energy Center is slated to be constructed on the site of Meramec Energy Center, which Ameren closed in 2022.
The new energy center is expected to launch in 2027.
