Ameren Missouri filed a certificate of convenience and necessity with the Missouri Public Service Commission for a solar farm in Callaway County.
The 250-megawatt plant would be built on the north side of its existing nuclear plant in the county.
Environmental advocacy agency Renew Missouri is supportive of the solar farm project.
