Ameren gets approval for solar energy center

Posted online
Come December, the landscape of O'Fallon is going to look a little bit different – about 19,000 solar panels different.

The St. Louis Business Journal reports Ameren Corp. (NYSE: AEE) received approval from the Missouri Public Service Commission to build an estimated $10 to 20 million solar farm on 19 acres in the town. The O'Fallon Renewable Energy Center would be capable of generating 5.7 megawatts of energy. Construction is expected to begin following Missouri Department of Natural Resources approval.
