Ameren Missouri last week announced it finalized an acquisition of a wind energy center in the northeast part of the state.
The company bought High Prairie Renewable Energy Center in Adair and Schuyler counties. With a planned future wind center acquisition in northwest Missouri's Atchison County, the two purchases would add 700 megawatts to Ameren's grid.
Together, the High Prairie and Atchison purchases are slated to cost $1.2 billion, officials said.
