About 350,000 video doorbells made by Ring are being recalled for batteries that can overheat.
Consumer reports indicate combustion has occurred when the doorbell is installed using incorrect screws that came with the product.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the home security and smart home company owned by Amazon has received at least 85 incident reports of incorrect doorbell screws installed with 23 of those doorbells igniting, resulting in minor property damage.
The products were sold at stores and online June-October this year.
